"Mama Colonel", the winner of Berlin and Cinema Du Reel Film Festivals is going to be Screened in Cinema Verite

This 72-minute documentary, the co-production of France and the Congo in 2017, is about "The Colonel Honorine Munyole, known as the Mama Colonel, who leads a special police unit in the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo to serve and protect the women and children of her country when no one else will."
Dieudo Hamadi was born in 1984 in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He studied Medicine at the University of Kisangani, and after attending several documentary workshops, he has been in the film industry since 2013. "The National Diplomat", "Atalaku" and "Congo in Four Acts" are his other documentaries.
"Mama Colonel" won the Jury Special Prize and the Best Movie Award in forum section of Berlin Film Festival, the Grand Prix of the Cinema du Reel, the Best Documentary Award in Zanzibar International Film Festival, the Human Rights Award in South African Durban Film Festival, and the Best Documentary from the Film Academy of Africa. This documentary has won awards in the film festivals in Sheffield, UK; Warsaw, Poland; Zurich, Switzerland; DOK.fest, Germany; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and many others.
