I WANT TO BE A KING in Planete+ Doc Film Festival

The feature-length documentary I Want to Be a King, directed by Mehdi Ganji will compete at next month's Planete+ Doc Film Festival in Poland.

Produced by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) in 2014, Ganji's film will be screened at the competitive Magic Hour section of the festival.

I Want to Be a King is the story of Abbas Barzegar, a villager from near Shiraz, who, with the help of his family, has been hosting international tourists for years. He takes them out to see the nomads; and he has a big dream…

The documentary represented Iran in the competition section of last year's edition of IDFA in the Netherlands. Mehdi Ganji won the Best Documentary Director award at last year's Fajr Int'l Film Festival. The film is also a finalist at Turkish TV Channel TRT's Documentary Awards.

The 12th edition of Planete+ Doc Film Festival will take place May 8 - 17, 2015, in Warsaw.
