Ilja Sirčenko Finds Diverse, Inspiring Documentaries at Cinema Verite Festival

Ilja Sirčenko, the filmmaker from Belgium, thinks the diverse range of structures and narratives at Cinema Verite Festival provides the opportunity to critique and analyze films from different perspectives.
As reported by the Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center of Iran (DEFC), documentary filmmaker Ilja Sirčenko, who has traveled from Belgium to attend the 18th Iran International Documentary Film Festival- Cinema Verite, in Tehran, shared his thoughts, stating:
“The atmosphere at the Cinema Verite Festival was positively energizing. Every part of the festival was interesting, and I was able to watch a few international and Iranian documentaries in the first two days. I was impressed with the quality of documentaries across feature, short, and mid-length sections.
The diverse range of structures and narratives in the festival's films gave me the opportunity to critique and analyze them from different perspectives, which is a valuable skill for me as a filmmaker.” Sirčenko noted.
“I arrived in Iran only yesterday, so I haven't had the chance to explore Tehran yet. However, what has instantly captured my attention is the energetic vibe of the people and the exceptional Iranian cuisine. Moreover, I was struck by the vastness of Tehran, which is a contrast to the relatively smaller Brussels.”
The 18th Iran International Documentary Film Festival- Cinema Verite was held from December 8th to 15th 2024 in Charsou Cineplex, Tehran.
