Farnoosh Abedi Travels to Fribourg with ‘Holy Heaviness’

The short animation “Holy Heaviness”, directed by Farnoosh Abedi, and produced by Documentary, Experimental and Animation Film Center (DEFC), will be screened in the competition section of the 39th Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland.
As reported by the Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center of Iran (DEFC), ‘Holy Heaviness,' formerly titled 'Embrace,' tells the story of a father and son. The son's struggles with the past create challenges and conflicts within the family. The animation has a runtime of eight minutes.
The 39th edition of Fribourg International Film Festival will take place from 21st to 30th March 2025. This festival is focused on top films from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Farnoosh Abedi is one of the most acclaimed directors in Iranian animation cinema. His portfolio includes short animations such as 'Malakout,' The Sprayer,' The Servant,' 'The Old Tree,' and others.
