“Thank You, Dr Farsi” in the Competition Section of Annecy Festival
The short animation “Thank You, Dr Farsi”, directed by Samaneh Shojaei, (Produced by DEFC), will be shown at Annecy International Animation Film Festival- competition section.
According to the Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), “Thank You, Dr Farsi”, written by Amin KafashZadeh, follows the story of Minoo, a young girl who feels irritated and overwhelmed by people around her. She is invited to a birthday party, but this is not an ordinary celebration. The narrative unfolds through a stream-of-consciousness style, and the overall atmosphere of the film is surreal. 'Thank You, Doctor Farsi' is intended for an adult audience.
This film is a psychological drama, crafted in a 2D animation style.
The 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival takes place from 8 to 14 June, 2025, in Annecy, France.
Shojaei previously created “Ascribed Achievements” and “Gray Body” with the collaboration of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC).
