The Last Deer, From Iran to Russia
The short animation, The Last Deer by Mehdi Bargh Zadegan found its way to International Animated Short Film Competition of the Voronezh International Animation Festival in Russia.
As reported by Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), this animation is about a deer that realizes it is being chased by hunters. When the deer discovers that its family has already been killed, it stops running and no longer tries to escape.
The Voronezh International Animation Festival takes place from May 22 to 24, 2026 in Russia. The Last Deer will be featured in International Animated Short Film competition section of the festival.
The Voronezh International Animation Festival is a review of modern professional domestic and world animation films for children, teenagers and families. A feature of the festival is its workshop format, which will include not only screenings and discussions of animated films, but also master classes, round tables and creative meetings for a wide audience from leading specialists of the Voronezh Animation Studio and recognized professionals of the international animation industry.
