Paper Flowers Once Again in Russia

The short animation “Paper Flowers” directed by Ramak Amin Kazemi, and produced by Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center (DEFC) found its way to the competition section of the 21st Within the Family International Festival of Family and Children's Films in Russia.

Paper Flowers has been showcased internationally since last year, with screenings at renowned festivals such as Girona Film Festival in Spain, T-Short Animated film Festival of Germany, Tampa Film Festival in the USA, and moreover. Furthermore, the animation was awarded the Best Short Animation at the 20th “Altyn Minbar” Kazan International Film Festival, held in Kazan, Russia.

Within the Family International Festival showcases the finest films from around the world, with over 20 countries participating each year, all curated for family audiences. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate and promote films that explore themes of love, loyalty, and the enduring values of family. The festival program features three competitions: Feature Films (Main Competition), Feature and Animated Films for Children, and Short Films. This festival is the largest family film festival in Russia, bringing together audiences, filmmakers, and industry professionals to honor the magic of family cinema.

Within the Family International festival of family and children’s films will be held from July 4 – 7, 2026 in Moscow, Russia.

“Paper Flowers” is a production of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC).
