Art and Politics Stay Separate at Cinema Verité; A Path to Peace and Friendship

Eric Spitzer-Marlyn, the Austrian sound designer, musician, and documentary filmmaker who held workshops at the 12th Iran International Documentary Film Festival "Cinema Verité", praised the 18th Cinema Verité festival as a path to peace and friendship in a message to the organizers.

According to the Public Relations department of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), Marlyn’s message read as follows “When I was invited for the first time to the Iran documentary Film Festival- Cinema Verité, I was deeply impressed by the absolute enthusiasm of all the international participants and the hospitality of all local people involved.”

“It only needs a short visit at the local Film Museum to experience all the love to film and all additional necessities. There was a strict separation of any political opinion and the art presented. All I can say is, it was a real, well laid-out, fantastic festival and I always felt safe and well treated - a path to peace, a path to friendship in high art!” Spitzer stated.

Eric Spitzer-Marlyn, the well-known Austrian sound designer who has worked with Werner Herzog for years, held workshops at the 12th Iran International Documentary Film Festival "Cinema Verité".
