The short animation "Jiroft," directed by Marjan Keshani and produced by the Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center (DEFC), found its way to the 7th edition of Firenze Archeofilm Festival in Italy.
According to the Public Relations department of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), "Jiroft" directed by Marjan Keshani will compete in the competition section of the 7th International Film Festival of Archaeology, Art and Environment in Italy.
“Jiroft” stems from Jiroft culture and Iranian civilization. It depicts a battle between an eagle and a snake painted on an earthenware jar. The eagle is a symbol of sky waters, blessing and growth, while the snake symbolizes the ground waters. Additionally, they both illustrate the flow of life.
The aim of the Firenze Archeofilm Festival is to promote documentary films on archaeological, historical, ethnographic, artistic, and environmental themes. Held annually in Florence, Italy, the 7th festival takes place from March 5th to 9th, 2025.
