The short animation “Holy Heaviness”, directed by Farnoosh Abedi, found its way to the 22nd edition of the IN THE PALACE International Film Festival.
According to the Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental and Animation Film Center (DEFC), the short animation “Holy Heaviness”, directed by Farnoosh Abedi and produced by DEFC, and the historical short film "Under the Shadow of the Oak" written, directed and produced by Hossein Allahyari have been selected to be screened at the IN THE PALACE Festival.
"Under the Shadow of the Oak" previously received four prizes, including the Golden Leaf Awards for Best Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing in the national section of the 41st Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF).
“Holy Heaviness,” which was also selected for the competition section of the 39th Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland, tells the story of a father and son. The son's struggles with his past lead to challenges and conflicts within the family. This animation runs for eight minutes.
IN THE PALACE is a prestigious international festival celebrating short films and digital arts, with competitive programs for feature films and series. It is a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards, Student Academy Awards®, and Academy Awards®/OSCAR® in categories like Best Animation, Best Fiction, Best Documentary, and Best National Film.
The 22nd IN THE PALACE takes place from June 28th until July 5th 2025 in the Palace of Culture Pernik (Pernik, Bulgaria).
