First Project of DEFC on Ramadan War

The documentary Recording Is Equivalent to Evidence, directed by Nima Mahdian, the first project in a series dedicated to the US-Israel war on Iran, is currently in the editing stage.

According to the Public Relation department of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center- DEFC, filming Recording Is Equivalent to Evidence began at 11 a.m. on February 28, the first day of the war.

Filming took place in Tehran, with additional scenes shot in northern Iran. Mahdian’s new film adopts a social and sociological approach to war, examining its causes and consequences.

The documentary was filmed over 47 sessions, and Farshad Ektsabi, the director and editor, has begun editing the film.
Mahdian collaborated with Saeed Sattari and Mehdi Saber Darvish as cinematographers, and Gisou Azadravesh serves as the project’s sound designer.

Last year, Mahdian directed the documentary "Rush" about the Twelve-Day War, which was screened at the 19th "Cinema Verite" festival, and received the Honorary diploma and the Iran Special Section Trophy.

Mahdian has directed documentaries such as "A Part of the Land," "That Man Came by Bus," "The Legacy of the Stepfather," and more. "Recording Is Equivalent to Evidence" has a more complex narrative compared to "Rush."

The film "Recording Is Equivalent to Evidence" is one of the documentaries in a series by Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center- DEFC on the theme of "Ramadan War," the US-Israel war on Iran, the rest of which will be introduced soon.
