"Phoenix," to compete at ANIMAVERSO Festival in Brazil
The short animation "Phoenix," directed by Mona Shams and produced by the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Cinema Expansion Center, delves into the concept of migration and leaving one's homeland. It was crafted using the actual voices of Iranian migrants across the .world
"Phoenix" has been selected to participate in the international competition section of the ANIMAVERSO Festival in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
This year, the festival received 1640 submissions from various countries. The awards at this festival encompass categories such as Best Brazilian Animated Feature Film, Best Brazilian Animated Short Film, Best International Animated Feature Film, Best International Animated Short Film, and Best Video Game from Brazil. "Phoenix" has previously received recognition at the Brazil Anime Art Festival, Tripoli Lebanon, Berlin Animation Festival, Tbilisi Animation Festival, and Tallinn Black Nights Animation Festival.
The ANIMAVERSO Festival is set to run from the 13th to the 15th of December 2023.
