The 18th Iran International Documentary Film Festival Came to a Close

The journey of the 18th Iran International Documentary Film Festival of Iran, known as "Cinema Verite," has reached its final destination.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center (DEFC), the closing ceremony of the 18th Cinema Verite Festival was held at Vahdat Hall in Tehran, and the winners were announced.


International Short and Mid-Length Documentary Section


 

  • The Honorary Diploma for the International Short Documentary Section was awarded to the film “Brussels Close-Up” by Ilja Sirčenko from Belgium and “Deep Memories” directed by Rafael Quiroga from Mexico.


 

  • The Special Jury Prize, including cash prize, Festival Trophy and the Honorary Diploma went to the film “With Confidentiality” by Shervin Vahdat and Payam Azizi from Iran.

  • The Honorary Diploma, Festival Trophy, along with a cash prize, for the Best International Short Documentary awarded to the film “The Barefoot Journey” by Bijoy Chowdhury from India.

  • The Honorary Diploma for the International Mid-Length Documentary Section was awarded to the film “Blood Father” by Tofigh Heidari from Iran and “Sol” by Zahra Alboudi from Syria.

  • The Honorary Diploma, Festival Trophy, along with a cash prize for the Best International Mid-Length Documentary awarded to the film “Unspoken” by Maciej Adamek from Poland.

Feature Length International Competition Section

  • The Honorary Diploma for the International Feature Documentary Competition Section was awarded to the film “Relentless Memory” by Paula Rodríguez Sickert from Argentina and Chile.
     
  • The Special Jury Prize, including cash prize, Festival Trophy and the Honorary Diploma went to the film “Cabin” by Yasser Khayer from Iran

  • The Honorary Diploma, Festival Trophy, along with a cash prize for the Best International Feature Documentary awarded to the film “Gingerbread for Her Dad” by Alina Mustafina from Kazakhstan.

The 18th Iran International Documentary Film Festival- Cinema Verite was held from December 8th to 15th, 2024 at Charsou Cineplex, Tehran.
