Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam Announced as the Director of the 19th Cinema Verite Festival

According to the Public Relations department of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), Raed Faridzadeh has appointed Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam as the director of the 19th Iran International Documentary Film Festival-Cinema Verite. In his official decree, Raed Faridzadeh states: “In recognition of your expertise, experience, and valuable background, you are hereby appointed as the director of the 19th Iran International Documentary Film Festival-Cinema Verite.”

“With its rich background, Iran International Documentary Film Festival is regarded as one of the most important and influential events in the field of documentary cinema, serving as a reflection of truth and the grandeur of Iran’s history and civilization.

The support of the large family of Iranian documentary cinema is a powerful pillar for this festival. Relying on this support, we can witness the emergence of new talents, the creation of worthy works, and the provision of a space for expressing empathy, unity, and a sense of responsibility.

With hope in God’s help, the support of the esteemed Policy-Making Council of the festival, and the active participation of documentary filmmakers and artists, we look forward to the successful and dignified hosting of this significant national and international event—especially in portraying the proud defense of the honorable people of Iran during the war imposed by the Zionist regime.”

Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam, also the Head of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC) in Iran, has been the festival director of Cinema Verite for the past six editions.

The 19th edition of the Iran International Documentary Film Festival, known as Cinema Verite, is scheduled to take place in December 2025 in Tehran, Iran.
