Winners of the 19th Cinema Verité Film Festival

The 19th International Documentary Film Festival of Iran, known as “Cinema Verité,” has concluded its journey.

As reported by Cinema Verite Festival Press Center, the closing ceremony of the 19th Cinema Verité Festival was held on Tuesday, 16 December, at Vahdat Hall in Tehran, where the winners were announced.

In the International Short and Mid‑Length Documentary Competition, four awards were presented:

  • Best Short Film: Ceasefire by Jakob Krese from Slovenia, Germany, and Italy
  • Best Mid‑Length Film: Kourosh by Sepideh Sepahi from Iran
  • Special Jury Award: Voices from the Abyss by Irving Serrano, Victor Rejón from Mexico, and When I Came to Your Door by Antonio Paoletti from Netherlands and Ethiopia
  • Special Mention: Refugees by Adam Knott from Australia 

In the International Feature Documentary Competition, three awards were presented:

  • Best Feature Film: GOAT501 by Evrim Çervatoğlu from Turkey
  • Special Jury Award: The Red Moon Eclipse by Caroline Guimbal from Belgium 
  • Special Mention: Kabouk by Jafar Sadeghi from Iran

In the Gaza, Resistance, Palestine Section, the Best Film Award was jointly awarded to Still Playing by Mohamed Mesbah, and Gaza; A Stolen Childhood by Moamen Ghonem. The jury also presented a Special Jury Award to Notes on an Exile by Gustavo Castro.


The 19th Iran International Documentary Film Festival- Cinema Verite was held from December 10th to 16th, 2025 at Mellat Cineplex, Tehran, Iran.
