In the Last Years of Life Travels to Russia
The short animation ‘In the Last Years of Life’ by Mina Sadat Ayatollahi (produced by DEFC), will be screened in the competition section of the 5th Khabarovsk International Animation Film Festival "Animur".
According to the Public Relations Department of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC), In the Last Years of Life tells the story of a young albino girl during the Qajar era in Iran who is alone, as no one is willing to play with her because of her appearance. A brave girl becomes her friend, but social circumstances eventually separate them.
Khabarovsk International Animation Festival focuses on short films and animated series from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
The first edition of “Animur” festival was held in Khabarovsk in 2022. Over the past years, thousands of viewers watched animated films from 83 countries at this festival.
The 5th Khabarovsk International Animation Film Festival "Animur" will take place in Khabarovsk, Russia, between the dates of October 1 – 4, 2026.
In the Last Years of Life is a production of the Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Film Center (DEFC) and has been distributed internationally by DEFC’s International Department.
