DEFC's Nahid in Cannes 2015

The film Nahid, directed by Ida Panahandeh, has been accepted to compete at the 68th edition of Cannes Film Festival. A production of Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), Nahid is Ms Panahandeh's first feature film and now will compete for the prestigious Camera d'Or prize at this year's festival.

Nahid is about a young divorcee living with her son in a small northern city of Iran who falls in love with a man who seeks to marry her. According to the current rules, her ex-husband has the custody of their child; but has granted it to her on the condition that she doesn't remarry. Struggling to keep both of her beloved ones, she has to think about a third option: Temporary Marriage (Sigheh).

The 68th edition of Cannes Film Festival will take place between 13-24 May 2015.
